April 5th, 2012

Today the weather was not good and we were really bored. Mom decided to take us to the South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve. It was really neat, at first. We read about the different trees and soil that is found on the coast of Oregon, and we learned about different types of animals and insects as well. There was this neat part about how decomposing organic materials feed the other life around it. It was totally gross and cool.

Then we walked the Estuary. It was fun at first, but the walk never seemed to end. There was even a time when Donovan thought we were lost and going to starve to death. It was funny to watch him and I would just tease him more. It was fun to see all the Skunk Cabbage all around but it smelled really bad.

After we finally made it back to the parking lot, alive, mom took us to Bandon. We tried to find a resturant to eat at but they were all closed, except for a Crab Shack that Donovan wouldnt eat at. So we went to Coos Bay and ate a lot of sushi that was brought out on a plastic bridge.

Then we played with our Cousins on the Trampoline and watched movies. It was a pretty good day.

April 4th, 2012

The weather was not very good today. Mom took Donovan and me on a long car ride to Newport Oregon. We stopped and saw the sea lions at the Sea Lion Caves. They smelled SO bad. You have to go clear down into a cave and watch the sea lions roar and lay around lazily.

Next we drove to Newport waterfront. The weather was not bad, but it did hail on us. We had lunch at the Rogue Ale House (its Dad's favorite place) and I had really good chowder and a GIANT salad. Then we walked down to the Wax Museum and saw all kinds of things made out of wax. They had Ryan Seacrest, Johnny Depp, and Master Yoda (my favorite) on Dagoba. At the end of it we made wax hands. Mom took us to Ripley's Believe It Or Not and Donovan got scared at King Tut. We saw a shrunken head but they didn't have any you could buy, so we had to get other souvenirs.

After that, we saw Sea Lions laying on the dock. It was sad cause one had a name STAN branded on his belly. We went to the Candy store and had really bad Jalepeno taffy. I will never eat that again! I bought lots of bacon stuff. One was a bacon action figure. This was a really fun day!

April 3rd 2012

Today my new cousin was born. It was crazy waiting for her to come. We bought 3 balloons and a teddy bear, but 2 of the balloons flew out the car window when Donovan unrolled it for "fresh air" when someone cut the cheese. We couldnt stop laughing about it. We went back to the store and got Auntie Kayla some flowers and a card.

My new cousins name is: Alayna Joy Vonderohe. Donovan and I were not allowed into the hospital to see her. Mom got me the picture off Auntie Kayla's Facebook. I will probably be able to see her Friday night. I can't wait to hold her.

Monday April 2nd

Saturday the 31st was when mom picked us up from dad. We did a lot of things in Portland and then drove to Grandma Becky's and Papa Don's house. Yesterday it rained a lot, so we played games, read, and watched tv until the sun came out. We went to pizza with all our cousins and we jumped on the trampoline.

Today we went to the beach. Bastendorf beach and Sunset beach. It was fun taking pictures and playing with Donovan in the sand. Then we went to the Marina in Charleston and took more pictures. Wonder what we will do tomorrow...

Log covered in barnacles

While at Bastendorf Beach in Coos Bay Oregon there was this log, covered in barnacles. Mom took the picture cause my phone was dead, but I told her what i wanted it to look like. All I could think is that it would hurt if you fell on your face on the log. OUCH!
